The delegate of the Government, Serafín Castellano, has presided together with the consellera of Infrastructures, Isabel Bonig, the act of celebration of the 40 anniversary of the managerial polygon Fuente del Jarro that has served, not only of recognition to the 17 pioneering companies that still today continue having activity but to commemorate forty years of which it is one of the economic motors not only of Paterna, but of the province of Valencia, and to set the challenges of future: to continue creating employment, wealth and improving the services for the companies.
With remarkable punctuality, the Councillor and the delegate have arrived at the headquarters of ASIVALCO at 9.00 am to participate in the tribute. Before entering an assembly hall full to the brim and making their speeches to dozens of businessmen and personalities of the economic and business world, Bonig and Castellano have signed the golden book of the association of owners.
The event itself has started with the visualization of a video in which the history, the past and the present of both the business park and ASIVALCO, an entity that works daily to increase the improvements and services available to companies in Fuente del Jarro, as was later explained by its president, Santiago Salvador.
Serafín Castellano, Isabel Bonig, the mayoress of Paterna, Elena Martínez, and Salvador himself were in charge of receiving on stage one by one the representatives of the 17 companies to whom a sculpture commemorating the 40th anniversary has been delivered, symbolising a weather vane that moves with the wind, just as the companies that have been on the industrial estate for 40 years have known how to adapt to different times of crisis, prosperity, changes and vicissitudes.
After the businessmen, two people who have been “key” to Fuente del Jarro’s “past, present and even future” have received the same award: José Luis Abad, president between 1987 and 2005, -whose award his son picked up- and Concha Azcoiti, manager of the entity from its foundation in 1978 to 2008, thirty years that have earned him the greatest ovation of the morning.
Azcoiti was in charge of opening the turn of parliaments and focused her speech on thanking the businessmen for their efforts to endure 40 years while encouraging them to move forward and also receive the award on the 50th anniversary. Salvador then took the floor to thank Concha and José Luis for their work over the years “because without them today’s ASIVALCO cannot be explained”, an ASIVALCO of which its president has highlighted its pioneering spirit since it was one of the first members of the first association of entrepreneurs in the Valencia Region and also co-founder of the national association of business parks.
The entity has achieved important milestones for the businessmen of the polygon as a fire station, own postal service, with postcode, medical center, nursery school, video surveillance system, fiber optics in all streets or the new central shopping.
Salvador has shown himself willing to continue working along these lines because he defends that the improvement of services for companies will have repercussions on the common good since it is the businessmen who “create companies, give work, general wealth, pay taxes… if we don’t do it the businessmen, who is going to do it?
In the same line have been pronounced both the mayoress as the councillor and the delegate of the Government. Martínez has assured that “Paterna would not make much sense without this business park” and has insisted that Fuente del Jarro were born the others: Táctica, l’Andana, the Technology Park and the Science Park.
For their part, both Bonig and Castellano have defended private, entrepreneurial initiatives as creators of jobs and generators of wealth. “There is no progress of any kind without initiative, especially without private initiative,” said Bonig after announcing that in the last month, unemployment has fallen by 6,763 people in the Valencia Region.
A positive fact that the delegate of the Government has framed in the success of the reforms that has carried out the Executive of Mariano Rajoy among which has cited the labor reform, the reform of public administration and tax reform that will enter into force on January 1, 2015 and has described as “necessary to get out of the crisis. In front of an auditorium full of businessmen, Castellano assured that Spain is working to achieve the objective set by the European Union: that in 2020, 20% of the GDP of each State responds to industrial development. In Spain, it currently stands at 15.9%.
And in order to meet this challenge, the Government delegate has highlighted the importance, in addition to infrastructure reforms, a subject in the Fuente del Jarro gets a very good mark for its connection with the city of Valencia, the Port, the airport and the main roads. However, Castellano has insisted that in order to achieve the internationalisation of companies, improve exports and their competitiveness, the Mediterranean Corridor is essential “and for this reason the Government is going to invest 1,359 million in this infrastructure, 357 million in the Valencia Region”.
The Government delegate closed his speech by congratulating the companies and ASIVALCO and emphasising that the history of Fuente del Jarro “is a success story because it has been forged on solid foundations for the future”.
